How To Get Things Done  Accreditation

How often do you say: "So much to do, so little time!" Do you find that you spend most of your day thinking about tasks that are not getting done?

How can we do the tasks and achieve our goals and still have some fun and truly experience life? I have found that listing my responsibilities is helpful.

Make a decision about which tasks need to be accomplished and which ones do not;
Eliminate the ‘I Should’s’ and replace with the ‘I Will’s.’
Categorise the tasks as ‘Must Be Done Now,’ ‘Should Be Done Soon’ and ‘Would Be Nice To Get This Done.’
Decide which project you will tackle first;
Make a ‘To Do’ list of the different categories – start with the ‘Must Be Done Now.’
Commit to spending an allocated period of time – say 30 or 60 minutes, on a task;
For that period of time work towards your 30 or 60 minute deadline – put all of your energy and focus into the task;
Use a kitchen timer to alert you when the time has ended;
Stop when the timer rings, even if you feel like continuing on. Why? Because one reason we do not tackle projects (big or small) is because we are convinceed that it will take too much time to do right then. If we continue working we will find that our prediction has come true.

Pat yourself on the back for staying on task and take notice of what you have accomplished. Reward yourself for the accomplishment!
